Tintype Photography for Beginners - Sept 27

$250.00

Saturday, September 27, 10a - 5p

The wet-plate collodion process, introduced in 1851, was used to produce glass negatives, lantern slides, tintypes, and ambrotypes.

This one-day hands-on class is an introduction to making tintypes using black aluminum. No experience necessary but you must be comfortable working with chemicals.

Class will be held indoors and outside at my studio in the North Winton neighborhood in Rochester, NY. Wear appropriate comfortable clothing that you don’t mind the risk of permanently staining. A work apron is highly recommended.

4 × 5 cameras will be available for use during the class but feel free to bring a 4 × 5 camera (with tripod) if you have one.

Supplies are included in the class fee. Minimum of 3 students. If class is canceled due to low enrollment you will receive a full refund.
